All For Africa’s panel discussion on “Building Sustainable Non profits and Community Initiatives in Africa.”

roundtable photo 2On Tuesday, April 20th, All for Africa launched its educational series with a roundtable discussion on “Building Sustainable Non profits and Community Initiatives in Africa.”
The panelists at the roundtable included social entrepreneurs and founders and executives of non profit organizations: Benjamin Afrifa of the Ford Foundation, Matt Mitro, founder of Indego Africa, Tiffany Persons, Executive Director Shine On Sierra Leone, Peter Eliassen, VP Sales and Operations, Vision Springs, Saran Kaba Jones, Executive Director Face Africa, Robert Skinner, Associate Director at the UN Foundation and MacDella Cooper, Mac Della Cooper Foundation.   Jeannine B Scott, former VP of Africare and now President of Motir Global, moderated the panel discussion.  Representatives from  U.S.- based, Africa – focused non profits, students of international development and individuals interested in African development issues attended the roundtable.
The discussion centered on how a sustainable non profit/community sector in Africa can be achieved.   It was a very lively and insightful discussion, as we brought together very experienced individuals on the subject of the roundtable.
 
All For Africa plans to host another educational panel in October of this year.  The topic of discussion at the next roundtable is “The Non Profit/Business Collaborative model.”   More details on the this roundtable will soon be available.
