Wednesday May 21, 2008: All for Africa has awarded a grant to Georges Malaika Foundation to fund part of the construction of a school for 150 underprivileged girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The $50,000 grant represents All for Africa's first grant to New York based Georges Malaika Foundation. The construction for this project, which is GMF's second initiative in Congo, is expected to commence shortly with full operation anticipated by the end of 2009. GMF was founded by Congolese Cypriot model, Noella Coursaris, and strong diverse team of professionals with passion for empowering African girls through education.

"We realize that the quickest route to addressing Africa's crucial needs is through encouraging Africa's young social entrepreneurs such as Miss Coursaris. This is exactly the type of initiative that All for Africa is looking to team with as we meet our own goals of supporting sustainable development initiatives in Africa" stated Bruce Wrobel, Executive Director of All for Africa.

Noella Coursaris said "Quality education is a key to overcoming poverty in a single generation. Education is essential for altering long-held beliefs concerning gender equality. In many African countries, girls singularly face the challenging circumstances that keep children out of school. Educating girls yields a higher rate of return than any investment in the developing world".

Georges Malaika Foundation is a New York based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to unlocking the potential of young African girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo through education.
