Georges Malaika Foundation
The Georges Malaika Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of African communities by providing educational opportunities to young girls, aged 5 to 18. Its vision is to mobilize the resources necessary to overcome the insurmountable obstacles a young girl faces to obtain an education in the Democratic Republic of Congo. GMF will provide assistance that paves the way for opportunity, generates greater choice and empowers girls to make informed decisions. GMF endeavors to permanently alter the cycle of illiteracy and poverty within the D.R. Congo.
Universityof Paris/SOLEM
SOLEM (SOLidarité Etudiants Médecine) is the Fraternity of Medicine Students from the Paris Descartes University. Plunge into the heart of African life and customs while helping the population: hospital construction, wells, AIDS prevention ... The project Burkina Solidarity worked for the past 6 years to improve the daily lives of inhabitants of Tanlarghin. In line with previous projects, 2 teams of 6 people hold for 2 months preventive actions (Health, STDs, Malaria) and to add to the villages infrastructure. The 2008 SOLEM- All for Africa project added a grain grinding mill, school equipment as well as a fresh water well to this village of 9000 people.
YAI (Youth Action International)
“Youth Action International, or YAI, is a global nonprofit working to rebuild war-torn African communities. The organization establishes safe and healthy environments for women and their children by providing for their core needs and developing new community infrastructure. YAI is run by a network of young international leaders who are defining a new approach to delivering humanitarian aid. By leveraging the use of local materials and employing local people, YAI maximizes the economic and social impact of programs which include building schools and playgrounds, as well as micro-lending.”
