We are officially declaring the Week of September 28th to October 4th, 2010 International “Palm Out Poverty” Week (POP). Our goal for the week is to gather hundreds of individuals from around the globe to help us increase awareness and bring us one step closer to our fundraising goals. The week will include the “Drive Out Poverty” Golf Outing at the exclusive GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford, NY, a social marketing campaign “Championship Fundraisers African Food and Wine Events” supported around the globe and a “Palm Out Poverty” Festival at Slate in New York City featuring ?uestlove from The Roots, Bajah + the Dry Eye Crew, hosted by Sahr Ngaujah (star of the Broadway Musical FELA!) and produced by OkayAfrica. The fundraising goal for International POP Week is $500,000. When this goal is achieved we will have raised funds to plant 25,000 trees, producing approximately $500,000 per year in funding for 35 years to support programs in health, education, skills training and microfinance.
Save the Dates! 2010 International Palm Out Poverty week is happening from September 27th to October 4th 2010.
