Two-time Nigerian Olympian Eromosele Albert's father used to wake him at 4:30 every morning for a 2-hour, 16-mile barefoot run before heading to school.

Albert, who fought in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, spent 16 years as an amateur boxer and had a reported 568 bouts. He was a finalist in the All-African Championships and Silver medallist in the Commonwealth Games.

In 2001, Albert finally made his pro debut, registering a first-round TKO win against Nikolai Ermenkov (6-1) in Kazakhstan. Fighting in places like Arizona, Reno, Connecticut, Atlanta and Florida, as well as Chile and Canada, "Bad Boy" built his record to 10-0 (5 KOs).

Julio Jean, however, snapped Albert's perfect record when he won an eight-round decision on July 9, 2006 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Eromoselle came right back with a vengeance, winning 11 in a row and the IBA Continental light middleweight title belt along the way.

He defeated Dorian Beaupierre (12-3-2) by 12-round decision on December 10, 2005 for the IBA Continental title. Three fights later, Albert knocked-off the future star of The Contender, previously unbeaten David Banks (10-0-1), by 10-round decision (99-91, 99-91, 98-92). Jeremy Yelton (17-6) was next to go by fifth-round TKO in a title defense.

Wins against Nurham Suleymanoglu (16-5) and David Toribio (13-7) by 10-round decision and seventh-round TKO, respectively, were followed by a career-defining win by 10-round decision against former world champion Luis "Yori Boy" Campas (88-9) on ESPN.

Next up for "Bad Boy" was a match against Daniel Edouard (18-1-2) in Miami, which Albert won by seventh-round knockout.

The stage was set for Albert's showdown in his last fight (May 17, 2008) versus undefeated young contender James Kirkland (21-0) on ShowBox for the NABO light middleweight championship. Albert was stopped the first time in his pro career by Kirkland in the opening round for.
